Isaiah 41

“I am with you”.

He said that. He says it now.

He is with me (the God of the universe, who understands my struggles).

Just maybe, that changes everything. I did not create the world, but he did.

I did not suffer a sinner’s death, but he did. Nor did I struggle to the point of shedding blood.

Here I am, I am weak.

Here he is, not just there, and he is strong.

He is my joy and my refuge; my salvation and my comfort; my love and my peace.

When you feel alone, trapped and depraved, he is with you.

So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

For I am the Lord your God
    who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
    I will help you.”
